War Games - Museum of Childhood
War Games explores the fascinating relationship between conflict and children's play, providing an insight into the ways toys have been influenced by warfare from 1800 to the present day. With toys and games including Risk, GI Joe and classic Britain's toy soldiers, as well as photographs and archive documents, War Games represents differing sides of conflicts from around the world.
This thought-provoking exhibition reveals the sometimes surprising links between play and wider attitudes towards warfare, and delves into the secret history of toys as tools of propaganda and espionage.

African and Caribbean Heritage Writers Group
Ever fancied having a go at creative writing? The last Tuesday of every month folks with African and Caribbean heritage get together in the CLR James library in Dalston to do just that. They put their pens to the paper, share ideas, read their work and critique each others.
The workshop is bursting with talent from aspiring lyricists to spoken word poets, published writers, murder mystery fans and those just starting their journeys. The reasons for coming are varied but the desire to give release to creative expression is shared. Hear the inner workings of this caring creative group. (photo courtesy of Keith Williamson)
